sire included in a volitional act becomes a striving.  A striving based on the world outlook and a confidence in its correctness becomes a conviction.  Thus the knowledge acquired by a person and becoming his conviction which encompasses his world outlook and moral qualities may radically alter his moral makeup and consequently his behaviour.

Without the slightest bias or prejudice Islam is a living embodiment of character ethics. A real Moslem find himself totally immersed from top to bottom into these natural principles; on one side the Koran and on the other the messenger's words and deeds, Prophet Mohammed being the 'Perfect Man' and his character is the Koran.  Chapters upon chapters and books after books have been written on the characters of the holy prophet: his politeness, kindness, love and mercy, forgiveness, generosity, hospitality, sacrifice, simplicity, humility, modesty, sincerity, honesty and truthfulness, fair dealing, justice, fulfilment of promises, piety and righteousness, moderation, perseverance, courage and bravery, and humour.  His behaviour was the same towards the rich, the poor, children, slaves, women, animals, relatives, orphans, and evens enemies and the unbelievers.  This is the example every Moslem is to follow.  This is the basic and solid foundation of  success in any profession and medicine is no exemption. And before and after all the Koran which is the constitution of every Moslem has delineated routes of  success in all walks of life both by commandments and examples. For example the way the Koran prohibited wine and drunkenness is really fascinating and provide a remarked lesson.  Being a deep rooted habit the Koran prohibited it very gradually and over a long time. A lesson which should be followed when treating patients for say obesity or heavy smoking. Doctors should be tactful and not rush patients by giving fast and hard orders.

Mastering the theory of Islam and seeing how it is being steadfastly and successfully carried into life, Moslem communities not only acquired appropriate knowledge of certain truths but also changed their conviction.
